Profile

Seelai Karzai​ is a poet, educator, and cultural organizer from Flushing, Queens, New York City. Her writing centers the experiences and liberated futures of displaced communities. She earned her MFA in creative writing from the University of Oregon. Previously, Seelai earned a master’s degree in women, gender and sexuality studies, and religion from Harvard University and a B.A. in English Literature and Classics from Hunter College in New York City. Her writing has appeared in Northwest Review, Lantern Review, and elsewhere.
